Who I am at work:
One of the firm’s co-managing partners and leader of Stratacomm’s energy and environment practice group. Skilled campaign manager for public affairs, advocacy and communications programs. Specialize in designing and leading campaigns that deliver the right messages through the right combination of research, strategic planning, media relations, grassroots activation, third-party coalition building, social media and digital outreach, advocacy advertising, high-profile events, and personal contact. Know the ins-and-outs of complex government procurements and contracts administration. Someone who thinks good writing and smart thinking go together.
A look back:
Bring nearly two decades of experience with transportation, environmental and energy issues to help clients achieve legislative, regulatory and reputational goals. Former director of communications and government affairs for the American Highway Users Alliance (AHUA). Oversaw media strategy, public opinion research and external communications in that role. Was also a three-year Stratacomm client at AHUA before joining the firm in 2001. Draw on that former-client perspective daily trying to anticipate needs and exceed expectations.
My educational background:
Graduated from Davidson College in North Carolina magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa majoring in anthropology. Had no idea what to do with that degree, so moved to Washington.
Who I am at play:
Rabid fan of the Washington Nationals. Watch the Carolina Panthers and Duke basketball to kill time in the off-season. Admirer of Spanish culture and wine. Love the beach and mountains equally.
