Who I am at work:
Co-manage Stratacomm and lead the firm’s transportation practice group. Serves as trusted advisor to clients like Norfolk Southern, Amtrak, the U.S. Department of Transportation, Nissan and the Aluminum Association, among others. Hyper-focused on client service and success: strategic positioning and messaging, public affairs, crisis communications, C-Suite editorial services, media coaching and leading teams. Celebrated 20 years with Stratacomm in 2018.
Fueled by the desire to create an ever-evolving agency culture where talented, creative and diverse people are motivated and resourced to deliver their very best each day, so we can help our clients win – and win they do. Exceptionally pleased surveys confirm 9 out of 10 clients would recommend Stratacomm to others and 10 out of 10 employees are proud to work here.
A look back:
Nearly 30 years of high-profile communications leadership experience. Led the office of public affairs for the U.S. DOT’s Federal Railroad Administration, serving as agency spokesman and managing media relations onsite at some of the nation’s deadliest rail crashes. Earned the Administrator’s Leadership Award for Public Service – the highest honor bestowed annually to a single agency employee. Led communications for the Association of American Railroads, advocating for public policies and representing the industry in print, radio and television interviews. Began career in constituent services for a county supervisor.
My educational background:
- M.A. in Public Communications – American University, Washington, D.C.
- B.A. in Political Science – Wheeling Jesuit University, Wheeling, WV
Who I am at play:
Top down, music up. Politics and media junkie. Rescue dogs are the best. Part-time bike commuter. Happiest on the beach with my family or on my road bike with nowhere to go…and all day to get there.
Words to live and work by:
“Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”
