On this, our 25th year in business, Stratacomm’s partners offer thanks to our founders, on whose broad shoulders we stand. We also offer deep thanks to all our employees and alumni: you are what sets Stratacomm apart. We appreciate the many teaming partners we’ve worked with over the years, too. Most of all, thank you to our clients – then and now. You entrust us with your time, your money and your reputations to help solve some of your most pressing communications challenges. We value our relationships with you and are honored to serve as your trusted advisors. We look forward to doing even bigger things together over the next 25 years – and beyond.
Here’s our story and the journey that led us to today.
In March 1995, four friends came together to form a different kind of communications agency. They were fueled by a simple premise: Do great work, have fun, and business success will follow. Now celebrating our silver anniversary, it’s proven to be the winning formula for the people who make up Stratacomm and for the clients we serve.
National Journal reports, “A team of Washington hands with a grab bag of experiences in such fields as chemicals, motor vehicles, ceramics, energy and the environment has created a policy and communications consulting firm with the plugged-in sounding name of Strat@comm.”
Washington Business Journal headlines, “Fast-lane Strat@comm…” and notes, “The principals of the strategic communications firm have taken a two-pronged approach to building their practice, targeting a market segment they know well and structuring their shop to run with minimal overhead and maximum flexibility.”
The Wall Street Journal, Associated Press, Detroit News, PR News and more all take note of Stratacomm’s launch of its Detroit office.
The Holmes Report calls the firm a “powerhouse team” and names Strat@comm “Public Affairs Agency of the Year.”
Fleishman-Hillard International Communications takes a majority stake in Strat@comm. We remain quasi-independent but learn and grow from being part of the Omnicom global network.
Hey, where’d the “@” go? Stratacomm rebrands itself for the future while staying true to our history and core values.
Our third-party managed client survey results again confirm overwhelming client satisfaction. Stratacomm attains the highest level of client favorability across the network of our then parent company.
Stratacomm wins our first industry-topping Silver Anvil Award from the Public Relations Society of America.
Stratacomm returns to its entrepreneurial roots and regains independence, purchasing back majority ownership and control from FleishmanHillard in an amicable sale.
PR News names Stratacomm “Top Places to Work in PR,” and is listed as “Metro Detroit’s Best and Brightest Companies to Work For” based on direct employee feedback.
Washingtonian Magazine honors Stratacomm in “50 Great Places to Work,” and to meet client demand, we add advertising and media buying services, making us a fully integrated communications agency.
Our team is growing. Our services are expanding. We are still doing great work and having fun along the way.
Today, our journey continues – just watch where we go next.
