Stratacomm Launches New In-House Research and Strategic Planning Capability

Stratacomm, a full-service, integrated communications agency, welcomes David Ocamb as vice president of research, planning and strategy. In this newly-created role, Ocamb will conduct market research to help inform advertising and integrated communications campaigns, analyze the findings to create actionable insights, and ultimately, create opportunities for Stratacomm’s clients to deepen relationships with target audiences.

“Research informs opportunities to connect with audiences and provides communicators and marketers valuable insights to drive campaign development,” said Travis Austin, Stratacomm senior partner overseeing the agency’s media, creative and digital departments. “David brings a new set of skills in-house for our team that allow us to customize research solutions to help clients achieve their most pressing objectives.”

Ocamb brings to Stratacomm more than 15 years of experience leading strategy, research and planning. He previously held roles at two Texas-based integrated marketing and advertising agencies. As the chief research officer at GDC Marketing & Ideation, Ocamb led research projects for clients in several sectors, including transportation, healthcare, education, banking, retail, utilities and more. In his role as account director and project manager at Sherry Matthews Advocacy Marketing, Ocamb worked on the development and implementation of impactful behavioral change campaigns for the Texas Department of Transportation. Prior to these roles, Ocamb served as director of the Sierra Club’s Oklahoma Chapter. Ocamb earned his bachelor’s degree in philosophy and master’s degree in political science from Baylor University.

Ocamb’s scientific approach to research centers on uncovering actionable and practical insights for developing effective and impactful marketing, advertising and integrated communications campaigns. This newly added in-house capability continues a multi-year growth phase for Stratacomm.
