Jennifer Heilman Named WWPR Emerging Leader

Stratacomm is thrilled to share the news our own Jennifer Heilman earned the Washington Women in Public Relations (WWPR) 2019 Emerging Leaders Award (ELA) in the Mid-Sized Agency category. The ELAs recognizes rising stars in the communications industry and showcase the field’s most talented young women for their professional accomplishments. A vice president in our D.C. office, Jenn is a highly valued member of #TeamSratacomm, as she’s personally and professionally respected by colleagues and clients alike.

Jenn is exceptionally well-organized and excels at managing people, projects, campaigns and accounts. She’s our day-to-day lead on Stratacomm’s support of vehicle safety programs for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), where Jenn manages a team of nearly 20 professionals, spanning three partner agencies, to help NHTSA educate consumers on vehicle recalls and the latest available safety technologies (Stratacomm recently won three creative awards for the NHTSA campaigns she manages). She also leads Stratacomm’s work in support for Norfolk Southern, where the firm offers strategic communications counsel and tactical support on a range of initiatives.

Jenn cares about her colleagues and actively supports them at all levels. In recent years, she earned her office’s “Team Player Award” as the person who most represents the firm’s values. A poised presenter and strong writer and editor, Jenn also led successful development of the firm’s most recent comprehensive marketing plan – which is benefitting the firm in countless ways. In addition, Jenn serves on the chapter board as the Communications Committee Chair for Women’s Transportation Seminar (WTS-DC), she’s active in her alumni association, and she’s a formal manager and informal mentor to her office’s associate staff.

Jenn Heilman represents the very best of Stratacomm – and we are not surprised to see she’s also recognized as an emerging leader and rising star in the larger D.C. area communications community!
