In his role, John leads the agency’s marketing and proposal management teams, ensuring Stratacomm shows up in the market in ways that reflect the strength of its people and work.
With more than 30 years of experience in strategic communications, John also serves as a trusted advisor to companies, industry associations, nonprofits, and federal agencies at the intersection of public relations, public affairs, marketing and reputation management. He brings seasoned judgment and clear thinking to high‑profile, rapidly evolving situations where credibility and trust matter most.
Earlier in his career, John served as lead spokesperson and speechwriter for the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Railroad Administration, managing national media relations during major rail incidents and earning the agency’s highest annual award to an individual employee. He later led media relations for the Association of American Railroads.
John serves on the PR Council’s board of directors. He holds a master of arts in public communication from American University and a bachelor of arts in political science from Wheeling Jesuit University.
