Anatomy of a Web Build: Olympics Edition

Anatomy of a Web Build: Olympics Edition

So you’re looking for a new website. In 2024, you have many paths you can take to get that done: utilize a freelance developer, tap an overseas tech firm, create your own, or our personal favorite – utilize a full-service, integrated communications agency. At Stratacomm, we view our website redesigns or builds as an Olympic gold-winning team sport and with the Paris Olympics in full swing, we think it’s best to showcase our team’s chops using some popular Team USA athletes.

Simone Biles – Creative Designers

We all know and love her, the absolute GOAT of gymnastics and a driving force of Team USA: Simone Biles. She repeatedly breaks her own records, executes the artistry of her sport perfectly and continues to reinvent the field as we know it. Our creative team does all that in website redesigns, finding ways to effectively communicate for our clients, while keeping it fresh and different. They make the work look cool, feel cohesive and appear effortless.

Katie Ledecky – Content Strategists

Katie Ledecky has not lost a 1,500-meter race in 14 years. A race that is known throughout the sport as the most intense. During web work, the content development and migration is often the most grueling task, which is why our content strategists take the spot of Ledecky on our team. From the moment a web design project kicks off, content strategists need to be engaged, providing counsel and ready to start writing as soon possible. A website is not great without great content, so we lean on our content strategists to always deliver, just like Ledecky in the pool.

Stephen Nedoroscik – Developers

Arguably the biggest internet star of the Paris 2024 games (as of writing on August 1), Stephen Nedoroscik became well-known for his quiet, Clark Kent-like appearance turned excellent pommel horse performance. He was on the men’s gymnastics team to deliver on one skill, and he did exactly that. While web developers have a multitude of skills in the realm of coding, they are always set to deliver on their task of establishing a clean, maintainable code base for a website to keep it running and easy to use for clients. Nedoroscik’s performance helped deliver a bronze medal for Team USA and our developers help us deliver spectacular websites to our clients.

Lebron James – Project Managers

Lebron James has been at the top of basketball for more than 20 years and he hasn’t maintained that spot without finding a way to make his team work together, whether playing for the Lakers or Team USA. Our project managers play that role on our web projects: making sure all these players work together and deliver at just the right moment to give us a win. Without project management, web projects can go off the rails quickly and with our excellent PM team, Stratacomm never sees that happen.

Lee Kiefer – UX/UI Strategists

Lee Kiefer is a back-to-back gold medalist in foil fencing, what some may argue is the most strategic sport at the Summer Olympics. The foil discipline requires both technical skill and physical capability to deliver strategic wins. Our user experience and user interface strategists are similar in that they often require the technical skills to know what’s possible, but also the physical awareness of what makes sense and works for users online. Without UX/UI strategists, the site’s usability is on the line, and you risk not delivering a usable product for your key audiences. Whether it’s driving donations, increasing email sign-ups or raising awareness about key messages, the UX strategy is critical to any web build project. Kiefer continues to deliver for Team USA in a highly competitive and strategic sport, while our UX/UI strategists continue to deliver unique and usable experiences for our clients.
