Stratacomm is excited to announce that our very own Jennifer Heilman is being honored as WTS-DC’s 2019 Member of the Year. While mobility is a focus of Stratacomm’s work, Jenn extends  that industry expertise beyond the office in her involvement with WTS.

The Member of the Year award recognizes a member who shows extraordinary commitment to the goals and growth of WTS, promotes the reputation of WTS within the transportation industry, works effectively to strengthen communication locally and nationally, and does an outstanding job of revitalizing or expanding the chapter.

While being a vice president in our DC office, Jenn became chair of the Communications Committee for WTS-DC in 2017. She modernized email communications, significantly grew the social media following and increased event promotion for the organization, delivering high quality metrics and raising the profile of WTS-DC throughout the city and region. In addition to her role as communications chair, Jenn consistently volunteers for events and organized a panel on “Perspectives on Community Engagement.”

“Jenn is highly respected, both personally and professionally,  by her colleagues and clients alike ,” said John Fitzpatrick, managing partner. “We are proud, but not surprised, that Jenn earned  this well-deserved honor. As much of our agency’s work is transportation-focused,  we are very appreciative of the important work WTS-DC offers the larger industry and the professionals who work in it.”

At Stratacomm, Jenn is the day-to-day lead on vehicle safety and behavior programs for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). In this role, she manages nearly 20 people, spanning several partner agencies, to execute campaigns to educate consumers on vehicle recalls, 5-Star Safety Ratings, automated vehicles and seat belt usage. She also helps lead Stratacomm’s work for Norfolk Southern, which ranges across several initiatives.  

Jenn was also recognized earlier this year as the Washington Women in Public Relations (WWPR) 2019 Emerging Leaders Award (ELA) in the Mid-Sized Agency category. While we’ve always known how great Jenn is, we’re excited that others recognize her commitment, talent and work ethic, as well.
